🤓 What’s New?

As October marks the beginning of the shoulder season for Mongolia's tourism industry, we reflect on a successful season—the first of its kind since COVID-19. This year is even more special as we celebrate the 70th anniversary of Mongolia's tourism industry and the 10th anniversary of Mongolia Quest.

As pioneers in educational travel, we have proudly organized three paleontology expeditions in the Gobi Desert this year, featuring five expert paleontologists from the University of New England (Australia), the University of Alberta (Canada), and the Natural History Museum (London). Thanks to the Mongolian Institute of Paleontology, we continue to grow our reputation in science-based tourism, offering participants the chance to contribute directly to paleontological research. Stay tuned for more exciting expeditions next year, dinosaur enthusiasts!

Moreover, we have secured a new partnership with the University of Wyoming and organized the first Alumni, Friends, and Family tour. We are optimistic that this collaboration will open doors to further partnerships with educational institutions, fostering a bridge between the educational sectors of Mongolia and other countries, and promoting cross-cultural exchange and learning in many ways.

Picture yourself living with nomadic families—engaging in their daily routines, cooking, and enjoying meals together. Then, the next day, spotting the Przewalski's horse (takhi in Mongolian), exploring dramatic sand dunes by camel, and unwinding in a hot spring, overlooking autumn-colored forests.

We’re excited to present Aesthetic Mongolia, a new program that highlights Mongolia’s most stunning and diverse landscapes. This tour blends culture, adventure, and wildlife, offering travelers an immersive journey through Mongolia’s beauty and charm.

Mongolia Unveiled with Dr. Christopher Atwood
(May 30 - June 14, 2025)

Dr. Christopher Atwood on the Altai Mountains, Khovd province

The journey takes you to the lesser-known historical sites directly linked with the rise of Genghis Khan. This will be a unique opportunity to learn about the secret ways of early Mongolian noblemen and the mysteries surrounding them. The trip continues to western Mongolia, where Mongolia’s Altai Mountains loom. You will learn about the traditional nomadic way of life up close by visiting authentic nomadic families here. The journey then continues to the Gobi Desert, the land of dinosaurs and snow leopards, focusing on natural history.

Dr. Atwood, Chair and Professor of the Mongolian and Chinese Frontier and Ethnic History Department at the University of Pennsylvania, gives special presentations and talks throughout the journey.
